Ways to Cope

  • Journal 

  • Take up a new hobby

    • Yoga or meditation

  • Have a balance of business and relaxation

  • Accept your emotions and understand everyone grieves differently

    • Everything your feeling and going through is normal

  • Be active in decision making

  • Talk to anyone especially professionals

    • Join grief group

  • Avoid substances

  • Look back at the things you did right and that were out of your control to combat guilt

  • Become educated about the time of death

  • Prepare for grief “triggers” like birthdays and anniversaries

  • Return to your normal routine 

  • Stay organized and get help with post death process so they aren’t overwhelming or a burden
